Gas Natural Fenosa operates in Australia through the company Unión Fenosa Wind Australia Pty. Ltd. (UFWA), in which it holds 93,9% of the equity.

UFWA was created in June 2008. It's head office is based in Sidney and it has wind energy projects in the states of Victoria and New South Wales, with an estimated 900 MW of power at varying stages of development.

UFWA is the fourth largest development company in Australia as regards the size of its project portfolio. More than a third of the projects are at an advanced stage in the permit granting process.

The projects are in an excellent location with regard to wind and connectivity resources, and over half of the megawatts under development have guaranteed administrative licences.
