The installation is situated in the port of Damietta, 60 kilometres from the mouth of the Suez canal, and occupies 1.2 million square meters.
The liquefaction train has an annual processing capacity of approximately 7.6 bcm, of which Unión Fenosa Gas has a contract for 4.4 bcm. The plant came into operation in December 2004 following a total investment of €1 billion.

These certificates are in recognition of the good practices, maturity and effectiveness of the company's management system and Segas' commitment to improving the environmental impact of its processes and respect for the environment.
In 2011, there were 48 loaded ships, of which 29 corresponded to Unión Fenosa Gas and the rest to other operators.
