Algeria

Gas Natural Fenosa maintains commercial gas sales relations in a number of countries, including Algeria, where the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline starts from.

The Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline was opened in December 1996 and connects the Algerian gas fields of Hassi R'Mel to the Spanish gas pipeline network, after travelling through Algeria, northern Morocco and the Strait of Gibraltar.

Presently, the Algerian group Sonatrach is a shareholder of Gas Natural Fenosa with 3.85%.
