Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation

Established in 1992 by Gas Natural SDG SA, the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation took on its current name following the merger with Unión Fenosa in September 2009. Its mission is to promote the essential cultural values of interrelations and mutual enrichment in the areas of technology, anthropology and sociology, which constitute the reality befitting of a modern company, especially one dedicated to public service. Through actions in different areas, they are grouped into five sections: Environment, International, Energy Training Centre, Gas History Centre and the new museum.

Environment

One of the foundation's key activities is to raise awareness of environmental issues, primarily in the energy-environment interface, making it possible to progress in contributing knowledge, alternatives and solutions.

International

With an open international vocation, the foundation's actions are consistent with its line, reflecting the evolution of local Gas Natural Fenosa companies and making a positive contribution to the citizen dynamics in the country in which they are carried out. Activities are currently undertaken in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Algeria, Morocco and Italy.

Energy Training Centre

The purpose of the actions is to adapt the training and preparation of new professionals in the sector, as well as to maintain and increase training levels. The lines of activity aim to complement standard training or the training that the sector has already developed.

Gas History Centre

The Gas History Centre was established in 2004 as an instrument for revitalising a 170-year history, expanding the activities of the Historical Archive created by Catalana de Gas, S.A. in 1987, continued by Gas Natural SDG, S.A. since 1991.

The new museum

The Gas Natural Fenosa foundation is building the Gas Museum in a 19th century listed building where electricity was generated from gas. With a collection of approximately 3,500 pieces and objects related to the world of gas, the museum will cover history and future, energy and environment, gas and electricity, milestones and people, technology and society.
