Efficiency and sustainability

Gas Natural Fenosa bases its efficiency and sustainability strategy on meeting the energy needs of its customers. To achieve this, it boosts its competitiveness through innovation and a commitment to efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Gas Natural Fenosa is undertaking a pioneering energy services project at the offices of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, in Madrid. As well as covering all the complex's energy requirements, the company is implementing high efficiency solutions, installing renewable technologies and upgrading the climatisation system. These measures will reduce energy consumption by 10% and CO2 emissions by 13%.

Gas Natural Fenosa is the leading company in Spain for energy efficiency and is a leader in this field internationally. The company believes that energy efficiency is one of the key tools to guaranteeing power supplies, contributing to the competitiveness of its customers and helping to improve environmental sustainability.

The company's activities are channelled through Gas Natural Servicios, which offers customers efficiency solutions based on their needs and consumption. For those with low energy expenditure, the company proposes Energy Characterisation Solutions, Power Supply Solutions and Comfort Solutions.

For customers with higher consumption levels the company provides Mobility Solutions and Energy Efficiency Solutions.

• Energy Characterisation Solutions: Gas Natural Fenosa carries out a detailed study of the user to work out their current energy situation and proposes energy efficiency and renewable energy measures to reduce consumption.
• Energy Supply Solutions: Gas Natural Servicios offers customers long-term power supply contracts, with the guarantee of a continuous supply.
• Comfort Solutions: This service enables customers to pay only for the useful energy they consume. Gas Natural Servicios looks after the production station (equipment, operation and maintenance) and purchases the primary energy. The customer receives the useful energy at the price guaranteed in the contract.
• Mobility Solutions: This section includes the use of alternative fuels which have a lower cost and environmental impact than traditional fuels used in motor vehicles. Among other technologies, this section includes natural gas for vehicles and the electric car.
• Energy Efficiency Solutions: Gas Natural Servicios, as Empresas de Servicios Energéticos (ESE), help to improve the energy efficiency of installations and buildings with a business model unlike the usual model. ESE takes a certain economic risk in contracts, as payment for the services provided in based either partially or fully on obtaining the promised improvements in energy efficiency and on meeting all the other performance requirements agreed with the customer.
